Mother's Day Weekend 2013

First of all, I just have to say, that I have never felt more full, content or love in my life.  I love these boys so much it's crazy!'

We had awesome weather this weekend so we spent ALL of it playing outside!  I couldn't have thought of a better way to celebrate motherhood than playing with my healthy babies!  (Corbin is FINALLY feeling better.  OH MY GOSH...really this sick post is coming soon. I just never want to even think about it during a good period.)

So first up...

Mud Pie Kitchen!

A little of this, a little of that.

Fill 'er up.

"Then you pat it like this!!"

Then we decided to give the kitchen an upgrade with some built in mixing bowls.

Men at work.  Much better now!

Feeling better!  Thank goodness!!

Sharing my green smoothie.  He loves these things.

He found this tunnel all on his own!

I think Carter liked Corbin's idea!

Happy boy can ride like the big boys now!  Infant insert is out!

Little Drummer boy.

Little cutie pie!  He cracks me up!!!

Carter picked out this awesome card!

Honestly, best card ever!

I'm so thankful for these two!

I love being their mama!!

I love their kisses!

And their sweetness!

Thank you Carter and Corbin for making me a mom!  And even more importantly....YOUR mom!  I couldn't want anything else!

Favorites on Friday

This Favorites List may be a little random.

1. Green Smoothies.  I LOVE these and drink at least one a day.  Usually for breakfast to start the day with some veggies!

Kale
Spinach
Water
blend..
Banana
Strawberries (frozen)
Blueberries (frozen)
Yumbo!

2. Pretzel M&M's.  Gotta keep things balanced!!!
Best M&M's yet!
Okay, I like the almond ones too.

3. 6 Sister's Weight Loss Challenge.   I did this in January with John's sister and LOVED it!  I want to do another serious round before my little brother's wedding in August.  I want to start in June if anyone is interested!

4. Prevention Magazine.  Yes, that little tiny magazine that is right by the check out.  You probably think it is for old people.  I LOVE it. If you like to read about health and nutrition it is really good.

5. Hydrasense Nasal Aspirator.  Yup, it made the list. Sick, I know.  But we are intense on clearing up congestion in this house!  I'm sure they make other brands in the US.  Usually the US is never lacking on good products.  This is one of those suck-out-the-snot ones.  They did NOT have these in China.  LIFE SAVER!!

6. Gro Clock.  (I think I've blogged about this before).  This is Carter's clock that he lives...I mean Sleeps by.  It has two settings, nap and night time sleep.  When it's time for sleep you choose which one and a sunshine on the clock turns to 12 tiny stars around a big blue star.  Then the tiny stars disappear until time to get up.  When it's time to wake up or they are allowed to come out of their room it turns back to sunshine. He's pretty good at this for the most part.  We have the occasional "Mom there is only one star and I've slept my grumpy's away!!!!  I want to come down!!"  I give.

7. Lulu Lemon.  I HATE admitting this.  But I love it.  I was against it for so long but all it took was one gift card.  Who would have thought that everything there fits cute, and comes in cute colors, and makes you feel cute when you are working out, cleaning and having your child wipe his boogers on you?!  Why are they so expensive?  I don't know but I love them.  Lots of pieces are reversible so it's 2 in 1....that's gotta be why!!

8. Target Canada!!!  It opened this week!!  Thank.you.jesus!  2 messages to Canadians about Target: You do NOT need to dress up to Target.  That is one of the great things about it! Don't ruin this for me.  AND as an American, you're welcome.  :)

9.  I love when kiddies can start doing things!!  SO fun and funny!  It's a bit chaotic because you are always spotting them for safety and they also tend to pull everything off shelves.  But it gives you a little insight into their personality!

Okay...2 for 1.

10. Meeting Daddy downtown for fancy lunches!  Ahh.....good food, pretty restaurants, pretty clothes.  So fun!  Even though it is fast and furious with children, it feels good to get out sometimes. :)

Even the boys enjoyed it!

Who knew you got toys at places other than McDonalds!
(We don't get out much!)

Deviating from favorites list...but the kid refuses a hair cut.  It's wild.  But somedays I like it.
To cut or not to cut?

Back on topic.  I mean the desserts for the kids portion are even nice!!
(Again, we don't get out much!!)

We will be doing that more often!

I should have taken a picture of my drink!  ;)

ENJOY!

What are some of your favorite things at the moment?

Fear

Carter's imagination is not only taking off in the way he plays these days but it is showing in a few irrational fears.

He had a nightmare about bee's right before we left for Texas.  He thought they were in his room.  I tried to take the fear out of them by explaining that bee's aren't scary.  They make honey.  They want to live where flowers are, not in his bedroom, so that they can make honey for us to eat.

Good Families Don't....fart.  By: Robert Munsch.  Yes, it's a children's book.  We used to think it was so funny.  Carter did not.  He thought it was scary.  Some nights I let him take books to bed with him.  More of a "gift" so I can get out of his room.  And he can't even see them in the dark, but it works. So while in Texas apparently Grammy offered to let him keep the books they just read in his bed. He said he didn't want that scary, toot, book.  She even had to hide it.  The next day she had him write a story about a nice toot.  It is hilarious.  I'll just type it because it's pretty short:

Baby Toots
By: Carter McCoy

One day, Carter was going poop and a little toot came out.  And it was a baby toot.  Then the baby toot fell down the stairs.  And he said, "I'm hurt!  I'm hurt!"  His mommy came and gave him a kiss on his hurt face.

The End.

Dora:  His little rotation of tv shows that he watches while I put Corbin down for his nap is pretty basic, Sesame Street, Bob the Builder, Caillou and Thomas the Train.  So I was setting him up and suggested something new.  Why?  He was happy.  Ugh.  So he chose Dora (this is Netflix, so you select by the character's picture).  When I came back downstairs he was so quiet.  The said "That man doesn't want anyone to come on his bridge."  He looked so concerned.  So I questioned him further.  He went on "That man isn't nice. He is scary, mom."  I asked him if he wanted me to turn it off.  He did.  That is the end of Dora.  Ha!

Ants:  Canadian ants don't bite.  But while in Texas we had to warn him a few times about ant hills.  So the rest of the trip he'd yell "Texas Ants!!!  Texas Ants!!!  Oooooo!!!!"

Shadows: Another book while in Texas was about a duck who was scared to go to sleep.  WHY did I read this???  He isn't scared to go to sleep!!!!  But he chose it.  Ugh.  So one of the things the duck was scared of was shadows.  It's never crossed his mind that shadows could be scary.  Ugh.  That night, the last night, he was scared of shadows and wanted to sleep with me.  First time in history that he's wanted to sleep with me.  Luckily we were out of there the next day and all about scary shadows is forgotten.

Ahh, I love watching their little brains grow!

Canyon Lake - Part 2

The middle of our week was just us at the lake house.  This was wonderful because we never get much week time together and several weekends are also working weekends.  So any time together is fabulous!

We had some visitors from my best friend Elisha and her baby Eden.

Ba is sooo funny!!!

I love you Ba! (That is what he's thinking, I'm sure of it)

Once again, I did a horrible job at documenting family time.  When the big group gets together I just want to visit.

Next time I'm going to make a little list of photos that HAVE to be taken. Grrr.

But we had an awesome time!  Loved every minute of having a bit of warmth, healthy boys, outside playtime!

It's made us eager to get back to Texas.

Love Y'all!

Thank you to everyone who came out to visit us!!  We would like to make it a little tradition!
